Our Story
Our names are Jessica and Alan Taber and we’re the Owners of Junk Shot of South Arlington, TX! We moved from New Jersey to the DFW area, North Fort Worth, in January 2015. We’ve been living in Arlington since May 2020. Alan received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA, and graduate degrees from Steven’s Institute of Technology in Hoboken NJ, and Rutgers-Camden, NJ. Jessica received her undergraduate degree in music from Rutgers-Camden, NJ, and graduate degrees from Boston University and Texas Woman’s University. Alan has prior experience as an engineer, project manager, and data analytics professional. Jessica has experience as a choir director and voice teacher.
On a personal side, We have six children ranging in age from 21 to 7, the oldest just graduated from college, and the next is about to hit college. We have two cats and a dog. Our kids enjoy the arts and we enjoy going to see them in their concerts and art exhibits. We also enjoy camping and hiking, and traveling cross-country together.
As business owners, we’re looking for something to help us build a legacy for our children, to help them graduate from college debt free, and allow us to travel more as our kids get older and their families grow. AWS resonated with our own values of caring for others, having a close-knit community with its team members, and being environmentally responsible. We look forward to partnering with local community organizations to help make Arlington and the surrounding areas a better place in whatever small way that we can. We know that AWS, with its C.A.R.E. values, will mesh well with us as we grow our franchise!
